The QIO for Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of NHCQF is composed of physicians, “non-physician” health care professionals and one consumer representative for each state for which NHCQF holds the Medicare QIO contract (Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont)

All Board members are elected by the NHCQF physician membership
All Board members serve on a voluntary basis and receive no remuneration for their Board duties and activities
All physician Board members are active, licensed physicians engaged in professional activities in New Hampshire
All “non-physician” Board members are nominated by health care trade or professional organizations and all are actively working in health care in northern New England.

Board members serve NHCQF and the three northern New England states because of their belief in and commitment to local peer review of and quality improvement in health care.

President:

Kevin I. Young, MD of Plymouth, New Hampshire is now serving his second year as President of the Northeast Health Care Quality Foundation (NHCQF). Dr. Young is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Bowdoin College and received his medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School.

Dr. Young, Board-certified in Family Practice, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. He is currently Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Dr. Young practices at Plymouth Family Practice in Plymouth.

Dr. Young has been on the NHCQF Board of Directors since 2001.
